Our Story & Mission: Salty Soul Foundation
The Salty Soul journey began in 2017 with passionate ocean advocates, John and Mary Helms. They founded the Salty Soul Foundation, a non-profit organization born from the simple yet powerful belief that every single piece of trash removed makes a difference.
Our mission is dedicated to the urgent task of cleaning our beaches and oceans. We aim to inspire a deeper connection to marine environments and empower individuals to become lifelong stewards of our planet through:

Beach & Ocean Cleanups: We organize regular hands-on events across Florida and California, mobilizing communities to directly tackle marine debris. We are incredibly proud to have collectively removed over 33,000 pounds of trash from our coastal ecosystems with the help of 7,400+ volunteers.

Educational Outreach: We partner with schools and community groups to educate all ages about the impact of plastic pollution and responsible waste management.

Children's Literature: We published our first children's book, Hunu's Journey, to introduce young readers to the wonders of the ocean and the critical need to protect it, inspiring the next generation of environmental heroes.
